Blue Pegasus

Almost done with the pony/unicorn/pegasus patterns.

Blue Pegasus

Body
Use medium weight light blue yarn and an f hook
sc5 in the magic circle loop
Rnd1: 2sc in each sc around (10)
Rnd2: *sc1, 2sc in next sc* repeat around (15)
Rnd3: *sc2, 2sc in next sc* repeat around (20)
Rnd4: *sc3, 2sc in next sc* repeat around (25)
Rnd5-14: sc around (25)
Stuff as you go.
Rnd15: *decrease, sc3* repeat around (20)
Rnd16: *decrease, sc2* repeat around (15)
Rnd17: *decrease, sc1* repeat around (10)
Rnd18: decrease around (5) Sew up hole.

Ears (make two)
Use same blue yarn as you used for the body and an f hook
sc5 in the magic circle loop
Rnd1: 2sc in each sc around (10)
Rnd2: *sc1, 2sc in next sc* repeat around (15)
Cut thread and leave a tail for sewing onto the head.

Head
Use same blue yarn as you used for the body and an f hook
sc5 in the magic circle loop
Rnd1: 2sc in each sc around (10)
Rnd2: *sc1, 2sc in next sc* repeat around (15)
Rnd3-10: sc around (15)
Add safety eyes and sew on ears by pinching them in half and sewing one edge on one row of stitching from the edge of where you crocheted round 10. Stuff head as you go.
Rnd11: *decrease, sc1* repeat around (10)
Rnd12: decrease around (5) Sew up hole and sew head to the body.

Legs (make four)
Use same light blue yarn and use an f hook
sc5 in the magic circle loop
Rnd1: 2sc in each sc around (10)
Rnd2: sc around back loops only (10)
Rnd3-10: sc around (10) Cut thread and leave a tail to sew to the body. I wanted my pony to be able to easily stand up so I put a 2 inch piece of wooden dowel (5/8 inch wide) in the leg and didn't use any stuffing at all (like I did with my Italian Greyhound pattern). Sew legs to the body.

Wings (make two)
Use same light blue yarn and use an f hook
Piece One: sc10 in the magic circle loop
Rnd1-5: sc around (10) Cut thread and leave a tail for sewing.
Piece Two (make 3): sc6 in a circle
Rnd1-3: sc around (6)
Rnd4: increase, sc5 (7)
Rnd5: increase, sc6 (8) Cut thread and leave a tail for sewing. Cut a plastic canvas circle to shape and sew all the pieces onto it to make the wing. (see picture) Sew the wings to the body.

Mane
Use an f hook.(when I say turn it means start your first sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and work back along the ch)
ch21, turn, sc20, ch21, turn, sc20. Cut thread and leave a tail for sewing. (make 3, one purple, one blue, and one green) Sew to the back of the head with purple on the bottom, blue in the middle, and green on top.
ch7, turn, sc6, ch7, turn, sc6. Cut thread and leave a tail for sewing. (make 3, one yellow, one orange, and one red) Sew to the top of the head with yellow on the bottom then orange then red.

Tail
Begin with red yarn, use an f hook (when I say turn it means start your first sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and work back along the ch)
ch16, turn, sc15, ch16, turn, sc15 (during last st switch to orange), ch21, turn, sc20, ch21, turn, sc20 (during last st switch to yellow), ch31, turn, sc30, ch31, turn, sc30 (during last st switch to green), ch31, turn, sc30, ch31, turn, sc30 (during last st switch to blue) ch26, turn, sc25, ch26, turn, sc25 (during last st switch to purple) ch16, turn, sc15, ch16, turn, sc15. Cut thread, sew tops of the locks together into a bunch and attach to the body.
